An estimate in QuickBooks Online, when you send.
Send as you normally would. An eligible no-GST quote becomes an estimate in QuickBooks Online. GST-taxed sync stays off until Australian tax codes are verified.

What the connection adds.
An estimate on the customer.
Matched by exact email when the quote has one, by display name when it does not; created if neither matches.
The customer price, not your costs.
Lines carry the sale price with your margin applied.
One service item.
Lines are recorded against a service item called Quick Roof Service, created once in your company file. Your own item list is left alone.
No-GST quotes only, for now.
An eligible no-GST quote becomes an estimate. GST-taxed sync stays off until Australian tax codes are verified.
Estimate to invoice, the QuickBooks Online way.
It is a normal estimate, so converting it to an invoice works the same way as any other.
How connection works.
- 01
Open Settings, then Accounting.
- 02
Connect QuickBooks Online: you sign in with Intuit, choose the company, and Quick Roof receives a token rather than your password.
- 03
Send a no-GST quote as you normally would. An estimate appears in QuickBooks Online shortly after.
If something goes wrong.
The card says reconnect required.
Tokens refresh in the background, but a revoked or long-idle connection can lapse. Open the QuickBooks Online card and connect again.
The customer was created twice.
A quote with an email matches only that email. If QuickBooks Online holds the same display name under a different email, a separate customer is created rather than attaching the estimate to the wrong record.
The quote sent, but no estimate appeared.
A GST-taxed quote still reaches your customer. The QuickBooks Online copy is skipped, and the quote page says so.
